The UniAdmissions Team would like to say a warm hello to All of You.
Your team at UniAdmissions are working diligently with and for you, to ensure that you have the support and resources needed across your Programme.
Across the year, we will be sending Newsletters with key information regarding your Programme as well as important, up to date information we receive from UCAS and Universities.

Form Mentors

Your Form Mentor is your guidance counsellor across your Programme. They are on hand to help you through the monthly syllabus breakdown and be a soundboard in helping you decide your College choices, university applications. If you ever feel overwhelmed, or unsure, make sure to reach out to your Form Mentor!
To contact your Mentor, simply head to your Portal-> Seminars-> Form Group. Click on ‘View Files’ and download the ‘Contact Form Mentor Information.’

Your month-by-month syllabus can be found in your Form Group under your Seminar tab of your Portal account. You can catch up easily, with a little time commitment, to the previous months’ work. Remember, you are accountable for your self-study time.

2023 Admissions Test Dates

18th Oct: TMUA; BMAT.
19th Oct: NSAA; ENGAA; CAT; ELAT; GAT; MAT; AMELAT
20th Oct: HAT; MLAT; PAT; Philosophy Test

2023 Admissions Changes

Oxford Oriental Studies is now called Asian and Middle Eastern Studies.
This also means the admissions test OLAT is now named the AMELAT.

Cambridge Economists are now required to submit 1 piece of written work.
Your Portal account now has the ‘Essay Feedback’ Service opened for use.

Essay Competitions
Essay Competitions are held each year. They are good fun and a great way to put to use your enrichment seminar discussions, further reading and practice your critical thinking skills!
Here are a few you may be interested in:
St Edmund Hall- Oxford – Deadline 1st May.
St Hugh’s- Oxford – Deadline 28th July.
Exeter- Oxford – Deadline 1st August.
Cambridge University Global Essay – Deadline 16th April.
Trinity- Cambridge – Deadline varies between subjects.
Homerton- Cambridge – Deadline 14th May.

Form Mentors

UCAS School References
The UCAS School reference has changed for 2023. The submission is now focussed on sections with question-based answers. Further information can be found here.
Oxford Admissions Tests
– MAT questions will be presented on a screen. Answers will remain as pen and paper.
– Schools must register as an Oxford Admissions Test Test Centre.
– You can also find your nearest Test Centre and further information here.
– Please note, the above is ONLY for the following tests:

– The TSA and BMAT will still be managed by Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing as per previous years. This will be the final year CAAT will manage these admissions tests.
New Maths & Computer Science Enrichment Seminar Stream
We have launched a new enrichment seminar stream focussing on maths and computer science-related topics! The first session was on Sunday 9th July.
For students who have further/advanced maths and/or computer science in their selected subject choice will already have this stream added to their Portal.

We hope you enjoyed your summer break, but also ensured time was spent with admissions preparations and studies.
A few important notes for you below!
Form Mentors

UCAS School References

The UCAS School reference has changed for 2023. The submission is now focussed on sections with question-based answers. Further information can be found here.

Oxford Admissions Tests

– All Oxford tests (CAT; HAT; ELAT; GAT; Philosophy Test; MLAT- some sections only) with some exceptions (MLAT; TSA; MAT; PAT) will now be online papers.
– The MLAT Russian and Modern Greek only sections, as well as the MAT and PAT will be hybrid (Questions on screen, answers on paper)
– TSA will remain fully paper-based for 2023.
– Schools must register as an Oxford Admissions Test Test Centre.
– You can also find your nearest Test Centre and further information here.

Admissions Test Essay Feedback & Personal Statement Editing Services Deadlines

 

Essays and P.S’s will be marked within the deadlines if they are submitted before or by Monday 10th October.

We endeavour to mark and provide feedback for submissions after the 10th October, but may not reach you prior to your UCAS or admissions test deadlines.

Intensive Courses

Please ensure you check your ‘Courses’ tab on your Portal account and make note of the Courses you are assigned for your Programme.
We will always send email reminders to students.
Please follow the email and Portal timing instructions- please ignore any timings Zoom may show once registered.
If you are unable to attend a course, the recordings will be made available in their relevant ‘Academy’ sections of the Portal within 2 weeks.
Please note, Interview Courses are not recorded.
